In this video, I got back into having some colour and purposely wore a ‘diverse’ tie to embody my point somewhat….
Here, I’m discussing if there is in fact more to the hypnotherapy field than Elman vs Erickson, and I wonder if hypnotherapists are really open to diversity and other perspectives…. Have a watch:
The quote I refer to by the way, is this one….
“If all economists were laid end to end, they would not reach a conclusion.” – George Bernard Shaw

Hello Adam
I champion your zeal to reeducate our field! and want to share with you this direct quote from very well known training school, it was in reply to my query to them regarding teaching accessing the sub conscious mind and ‘talking’ to it. ”
My course is designed and structured to ensure that my students qualify as safe, effective hypnotherapists with a high degree of self-awareness; it is not designed to be an overly academic programme. It is not always necessary to understand the depths of the “how” in order to know something works (I don’t understand the programming of my computer, and yet I can use it effectively; the same applies to my brain!) and certainly, in therapy, it is not always desirable.”
Thank you Linda – that is a very typical quote and is indicative of lazy thinking, it is such a cop out! If you are an educator, you ought to be educating!! This type of mentality plagues this field and holds it back massively…. You’ve got me started!!
🙂
Best wishes Linda, Adam.
