In this video I’m drawing parallels between some of the most notorious cult leaders and current politicians and new age gurus, and some of the less credible leaders and gurus in the hypnotherapy field. Initially that probably sounds quite dramatic, but some of the mechanisms and conduct of such people need to be recognised and have attention drawn upon if we are to raise ethical and professional standards within this field. I discuss those who make unsubstantiated claims, those whose charisma and self-confidence seduce many of front line hypnotherapists, and a great many other issues in this slightly longer than usual video where I do not pause for breath.
I hope it encourages you to examine your own bias, your own belief and the way you perceive some of the leaders in this field, and I hope it offers up some stimulation.
